Why protein matters — the general benefits of a protein-rich diet

Protein is an essential part of a balanced diet. As general nutrition guidance, protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of normal muscle and helps you feel satisfied after a meal. For busy Kiwis juggling work, kids, training, or all three, getting enough protein through the day is genuinely hard — especially when cooking from scratch isn't always on the cards.

At Delicious & Done, we make it easier. Our meals are built around real protein sources: slow-cooked cuts of lamb, chicken breast and thigh, hearty beef, pork shoulder, and fish. Each tray is a full meal — not a side dish or a snack — with the kind of portion sizes that actually satisfy.

All meals are snap-frozen at peak freshness, so there's no compromise on flavour. Heat in the oven, microwave, or air fryer and dinner is on the table in around 25–30 minutes (oven from frozen).

How to order

  • Browse the meals and add your favourites to your basket.
  • Choose from single-serve (275–375g), duo (550–750g), or family size (1.1–1.5kg).
  • We'll pack and ship your order, frozen in eco-insulated packaging.
  • Store in the freezer for up to 6 months — or thaw in the fridge (below 5°C) and enjoy within 48 hours.

FAQs

What makes a meal high in protein?

We use protein-dense main ingredients across this range — slow-cooked beef, chicken breast and thigh, lamb, pork shoulder, and fish. These are complete meals built around a substantial protein source. Full macros per 100g and per serve are listed on each product page.

Are the high protein meals suitable for people who train?

Absolutely — they're real food, not diet products: filling, flavourful, and made with ingredients you'd recognise. (Nutrition varies by dish; check each product page.)

Are any high protein meals also gluten-free or dairy-free?

Yes — several meals carry gluten-free and dairy-free tags. Use the dietary filters on the menu page, or check the allergen information on each product page before ordering.
