Frozen Ready Meal Delivery NZ

Delicious & Done delivers frozen ready meals across New Zealand, all major and regional towns/cities and rural delivery areas in both the North and South Island. Our meals are cooked in Whangārei, snap-frozen, then packed carefully for courier delivery to your door.

How delivery works

Your meals are sent frozen in a recyclable cardboard box with gel ice packs and eco wool insulation. We use the trusted NZ Post network to help ensure smooth, reliable delivery across New Zealand.

Most customers receive their order overnight after dispatch, while Rural Delivery addresses can take up to 2 working days.

  • All orders — including Rural Delivery and the South Island: dispatched Monday to Thursday.
  • Cut-off: orders placed by 12pm (midday) on a dispatch day are sent that afternoon; orders placed after 12pm go out on the next dispatch day.
  • Friday–Sunday: we don't send orders, so orders received after 12pm Thursday through to Sunday will ship on Monday.
  • Public holidays: dispatch may be adjusted to avoid meals being delayed in the courier network.

You'll always see your exact delivery cost at checkout before you pay.

Can I choose a delivery day?

Yes. Choose your delivery date at checkout by adding it in the comments field — perfect if you are planning meals for the week, stocking the freezer, or sending a gift to someone else.

Can I order meals for a friend or family member?

Yes. You can send Delicious & Done meals directly to a friend, family member, new parent, older relative, or anyone who could use a freezer full of easy dinners. Just use their delivery address at checkout, and add a message in the comments if you'd like us to include a hand-written card.

Do I need to be home?

No. You do not need to be home when your meals arrive. Your box can be left safely at your doorstep, workplace or chosen delivery address. Our boxes are tested to hold a safe temperature for 55 hours in transit, so they can happily sit on your doorstep during the day until you get home.

Delivery updates

You will receive email notifications when your order is picked up, when it is out for delivery, and once it has been delivered. This makes it easy to keep track of your box and get the meals into the freezer when you can.

When your meals arrive

When your order arrives, place your meals straight into the freezer. Keep frozen until you are ready to thaw, reheat and enjoy. Once thawed, keep refrigerated and eat within 3 days.

Why we dispatch early in the week

Frozen food needs careful handling, so we send orders on set dispatch days to reduce the risk of boxes sitting with couriers over a weekend or public holiday. This helps your meals arrive in the best possible condition.

Pick up from us

In Whangārei? Choose Pickup at checkout and collect for free from 50 Kioreroa Road, 6am–2:30pm Monday to Friday. Orders are usually ready the next day.

Reheating Instructions

Our meals are fully cooked, snap-frozen and ready to heat at home. For best results, thaw your meal in the fridge overnight before heating. This gives a more even reheat and helps protect the texture of the sauce, pasta, rice, pastry, mash or vegetables. Meals can also be heated from frozen — just allow extra time.

Storage before heating: keep frozen below -18°C. Once thawed, keep refrigerated and use within 3 days.

Before heating: remove the cardboard sleeve and pierce a vent hole in the plastic film. For pastry-topped or cheesy meals, remove the film completely for the best finish.

Food safety: always heat until the meal is 75°C in the centre, hot and bubbling. Heating times vary by appliance, so the times below are a guide only. If your meal is not hot enough, continue heating in short bursts until fully heated through.

Oven — best all-round result

Preheat oven to 180°C fan forced. Place the tray on an oven-safe baking tray and heat until piping hot.

  • Single meals: 8–12 minutes
  • Duo meals: 20–25 minutes
  • Family meals: 25–30 minutes

Microwave — fastest option

Heat on medium power. Do not let the foil tray touch the edges of the microwave.

  • Single meals: 4 minutes
  • Duo meals: 6 minutes
  • Family meals: 10 minutes

For meals that cannot be stirred easily, such as lasagne, pies or baked dishes, rotate the tray if needed and check the centre carefully before serving.

Air fryer — great for crisping and browning

Preheat air fryer to 180°C. Heat until piping hot and bubbling.

  • Single meals: 10 minutes
  • Duo meals: 15–20 minutes
  • Family meals: 20–25 minutes

After heating: allow the meal to stand for 2 minutes before serving. The tray and contents will be hot.
